What we need on site
Two things, and they're the same two things every mobile detailer needs: access to a power point and an outdoor tap or hose connection at the address. Water and power are supplied by you at the vehicle's location — we bring the equipment, products and expertise, but not a water tank or generator. If you're not sure whether your driveway has easy access to both, it's worth checking before the appointment rather than on the day.
Before we arrive
- Clear personal items from the car. Anything in the cabin, boot or door pockets that shouldn't get touched should come out first — the interior work is thorough, and that means every surface, including places people forget about.
- Park somewhere accessible. A flat, reasonably open spot near the power point and tap makes the biggest difference to how smoothly the job runs — a car wedged in a tight garage or blocked in by another vehicle adds time before the work even starts.
- Mention anything unusual upfront. Heavy pet hair, mould, a spill that's already set in, or particularly stubborn stains — flagging these when you book means an accurate quote instead of a surprise on the day. See Add-Ons for what's already priced in.
What you don't need to do
You don't need to wash the car first — that's the job. You don't need to vacuum it out or tidy the interior beyond removing personal items. And you don't need to be home for the entire appointment, as long as there's access to the car, power and water; plenty of bookings happen while the owner's at work or running errands.
What actually affects how long it takes
Two things move the clock more than anything else: how long it's been since the last proper detail, and how much is in the car. A car that's overdue — see how often you should be detailing — takes longer because there's more correction work involved, not because the process itself changed. And a full back seat or boot adds time before the actual cleaning even starts. Neither is a problem, they just help set an accurate expectation for the day.
On the day
We do a final walkaround with you before we leave — that's the point to look closely and flag anything, not after we've packed up. If you spot something within 24 hours that wasn't caught, send a photo and we'll come back and fix it. No argument, no charge.
